Indonesia Wildfire Emergency Relief

Since mid-July 2026, forest and land fires have spread across parts of Sumatra and Kalimantan, exposing communities to thick and hazardous smoke.

Around 48,889 hectares of land had been affected across six priority provinces as of 9 August. In several areas, dangerous air pollution has disrupted daily life, reduced visibility, affected schools and transportation, and increased health risks for vulnerable communities.

For families living beneath the smoke, simply breathing has become a daily concern.

Children, older people, pregnant women, outdoor workers, and people with respiratory conditions are among those most at risk. Meanwhile, firefighters and emergency responders continue working under difficult and dangerous conditions.
