Floods Hit Jabodetabek, Human Initiative Team Helps Evacuate Residents

Jakarta, 4 March 2025 - The high intensity rain that has flushed the Jabodetabek area since Sunday (2/3) night has caused flooding in several areas, including South Jakarta, East Jakarta and Bogor Regency. The overflowing of the Ciliwung River and Pesanggrahan River exacerbated the conditions in these areas, while the overflowing Cimanceri River caused flooding in several sub-districts in Bogor.
In Jakarta, six sub-districts were affected by flooding, namely Jagakarsa, Pancoran, Pasar Minggu, Pesanggrahan, Jatinegara, and Kramat Jati. A total of 323 households or 1,027 people were affected by the floods, with 10 households (30 people) forced to evacuate. The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of DKI Jakarta Province has gone to the field to conduct rapid assessments and reviews.
Meanwhile, in Bogor Regency, floods hit Rumpin, Bojong Gede, and Cisarua. In Sukasari Village, Rumpin Subdistrict, one house and one boarding school were submerged. In Rawapanjang Village, Bojong Gede Sub-district, 137 houses were affected with 547 people affected. In Tugu Selatan Village, Cisarua Sub-district, 119 houses were submerged with a total of 423 people affected. Until now, one resident has been reported missing after being swept away by the flood.

In Bekasi, floods submerged several sub-districts, causing thousands of residents to be affected. The Bekasi City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that floods hit 20 points in 7 sub-districts with water levels varying up to 3 metres. River overflow and high rainfall exacerbated the condition, with reports of houses submerged up to 1 metre high. Affected residents at several points have been evacuated to safer places, while relief efforts continue to be made to meet their basic needs.
