Ride for Indonesia: A 4,000-Kilometer Journey to Support 100 Children on Seram Island

Two Indonesian riders, Mutia Wulandari and Chairunnisa, have kicked off their Ride for Indonesia mission through NorthCape4000, one of Europe's most demanding ultracycling events. The journey officially began on Saturday, 18 July 2026, with a send-off ceremony at Panin Senayan, Jakarta, followed by a leisurely 30–40 kilometer ride to PIM 5 Jakarta.
From 23 July to 13 August 2026, the pair will spend 22 days pedaling roughly 4,000 kilometers across eight European countries and with every kilometer, they are inviting the public to stand behind 100 children on Seram Island, Maluku.
The route starts in Rovereto, Italy, and winds through Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Finland before reaching the finish line at North Cape, Norway the northernmost point of Europe.
Mutia Wulandari is a private-sector professional whose cycling hobby grew into a passion for ultracycling. Chairunnisa is an oral surgeon who regularly takes part in long-distance cycling events. Drawing on that experience, the two are riding NorthCape4000 while carrying the Ride for Indonesia mission with them.
“I have a vision. What started as a hobby has finally found real meaning,” said Mutia. “My hope is that everyone who follows this journey will set aside a portion of what they have for the children of Seram Island, Maluku.”
Support for 100 Children on Seram Island
Through Ride for Indonesia, Mutia and Chairunnisa are calling on the public to support 100 children on Seram Island, Maluku, with a fundraising target of IDR 450 million. The funds will be channeled through Human Initiative's Foster Parent (Orang Tua Asuh) program, which provides education support, nutritious food, physical and mental health services, personal development, recreational activities, and parenting education. Together, these efforts help more children access schooling, healthcare, and the opportunity to grow into their full potential.
For Chairunnisa, the mission comes down to a simple conviction: every child deserves protection.
“To me, child protection is a right that must be fulfilled,” she said. “One of the areas we want to help with most is education.”
Every pedal stroke from Mutia and Chairunnisa is an invitation for more people to care about the children of Seram Island. Every contribution from the public extends the program's reach — and ultimately means more children gaining access to education, healthcare, and opportunities to develop themselves.
